Homelessness Support
Since 1993, The Purfleet Trust has worked with people in King’s Lynn and West Norfolk who have experienced homelessness to access decent, suitable, affordable accommodation that meets their support needs.
Becoming homeless can happen to anyone but it does not define who you are. With the right guidance, advice and practical support we can empower you and help you with decisions that will have a positive impact on your life.
We offer a safe, inclusive and non-judgmental environment with no expectations placed on clients and access to everything you might need. Our teams have a wide range of expertise and experience so whatever your requirements may be, someone will be able to help.
The Purfleet Trust Support Mission
If you need support, or know someone who does, please get in touch or visit our Health & Wellbeing Centre and we will help however we can. No matter what your needs may be, immediately or longer-term, the Purfleet Trust and our partners in the community aim to provide a comprehensive package of support.
We offer clients opportunities for work to gain skills and confidence, to volunteer to help others and longer-term support and advice to maintain sustainable tenancies and employment.
We understand that your concerns may be immediate so we help clients with emergency and temporary accommodation as well as helping address any immediate issues.
If you are able to support us, you can donate to the Health & Wellbeing Centre here.

The Health and Wellbeing Centre
The Health and Wellbeing Centre is often the first point of contact a homeless person has with Purfleet. We provide a safe, supportive, welcoming environment where you can access a range of services
We use the Outcomes Star monitoring tool to work with each individual at their own pace to build confidence, address specific needs and to improve their life skills so they can live independently and contribute positively to their community.
Health & Fitness
At the Health & Wellbeing Centre, we actively encourage clients to engage in our fitness activities. Exercise is a great way of not only keeping fit and healthy but stimulating the mind and building confidence.
Our regularly held ‘Walking for Wellbeing’ sessions let clients relax and allows them to open up more. The clients love our Walking for Wellbeing sessions and they really feel the difference in their mental and physical health by connecting to nature and each other.
Our weekly football sessions give clients the chance to build bonds amongst their teammates and express themselves through sport. Team sports are a brilliant way to de-stress and learn important communication skills.
We hold weekly swimming groups at Alive St. James Swimming Pool. This allows our clients to learn fun but important swimming skills that might not have had chance to learn before.
The Health and Wellbeing Centre has a purpose built gym, New Beginnings, for clients to start their fitness journey. We find that when clients engage in our gym, they can distract themselves from any problems they might have and focus on something positive.

Our On-Site Gym
We also have our own custom-designed fitness suite on-site at the Health and Wellbeing Centre. New Beginnings provides clients with one-to-one and group fitness sessions organised by our resident trainer as well as the opportunity for individual fitness training.
The gym has a rowing machine, free weights, static bike, punching bag, multigym equipment and more.
We encourage all clients to get involved with the gym, whether it be in groups or alone. The gym allows clients to push themselves in something new, gives them a distraction from their often hectic and difficult personal lives, and gives them a real sense of achievement.
We strongly believe in the power of physical activity in improving mental health and wellbeing. We are so proud to offer this facility at our Health & Wellbeing Centre and are so pleased that our clients find real value in it.
How the Gym helps our clients…
‘Gerry explained he became homeless following a car accident. He was given emergency accommodation then, after becoming involved with The Purfleet Trust, was able to move into one of the charity’s training houses.’
Can you offer any time with wellbeing activities?
