Donate Your Furniture
By donating your furniture, you can help vulnerable people and people experiencing homelessness in King’s Lynn and West Norfolk as they move forward into fresh starts.
Our project, House2Home, gives vulnerable people the best start possible in their new property by providing the essential furniture to turn their house into a home.
Donated furniture is also used to furnish our Training Houses, which help prepare people for a future of independent, sustainable tenancies.
We also sell some of the furniture at affordable prices in our shop at the Purfleet Pantry. This gives people in need in our community access to affordable, good quality furniture for their home, whilst supporting a local good cause.
Please refer to the information below if you’d like to help support a project like the ones above.
For drop-offs:
Furniture can be dropped off at the Pantry, where we can then transport it to our warehouse storage or deliver it directly to someone in need.
For FREE pick ups:
Our van can pick up your furniture for free anywhere in West Norfolk. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time for our drivers to collect your donations.
What can I donate?
We support many people that are housed in many different types of accommodation, but the majority are in small flats and HMO bedrooms.
Furniture that is most suitable for donation are smaller furniture items that can be used in rooms that are often more compact.
Please bare this in mind when donating your furniture!
The people we support deserve respect and this extends to the furniture that we are willing to provide to them.
This means items that your donate:
- should not have obvious stains, rips, marks or odours
- must work (particularly electrical items)
- must have all parts in place (for example, no missing doors on wardrobes, no missing drawers on a chest of drawers).
We are legally unable to sell or provide upholstered furniture to someone in need unless it carries a valid fire safety label.
Upholstered furniture refers to items with padding, cushioning or fabric coverings, such as sofas, mattresses and padded dining chairs.
If you are donating upholstered furniture, please ensure that:
- each item has a fire safety label securely attached or sewn in
- there are no rips or tears exposing the inner material, as this means the item no longer meets fire safety requirements
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any items that do not meet these standards.
Donating funds can help to provide our projects by helping us with van costs, storage costs and more.
