Workshops

The Purfleet Trust run and host a number of workshops from our Health and Wellbeing Centre. These workshops help build our clients’ confidence and skills.

One of Purfleet’s goals is to equip our clients with the skills needed to move forward on their pathway out of homelessness, and our workshops are vital in supporting this mission.

Our Health & Wellbeing Centre is host to a number of creative, practical and wellbeing workshops. Our purpose built gym, New Beginnings, as well as our specially trained staff allow us to facilitate a number of workshops every week that give our clients a range of new opportunities and knowledge.

Over the last few years we have worked in collaboration with The Workshop King’s Lynn to run a number of creative workshops, from radio production to digital art for our clients.

Creative workshops help to bring our clients out of their shells and increase their confidence. Our creative workshops are a brilliant opportunity for clients to try something new, gain new skills, and express their creativity.

Our practical workshops include Mental Health, Employment and IT skills workshops. These workshops are vital allowing our client to develop and improve their skills and knowledge in a compassionate, understanding and comfortable environment

The Purfleet Trust also run a number of wellbeing activity groups.

Walking for Wellbeing

Our regularly held ‘Walking for Wellbeing’ sessions let clients relax and allows them to open up more. The clients love our Walking for Wellbeing sessions and they really feel the difference in their mental and physical health by connecting to nature and each other.

Football sessions

Our weekly football sessions give clients the chance to build bonds amongst their teammates and express themselves through sport. Team sports are a brilliant way to de-stress and learn important communication skills.

Swimming groups

We hold weekly swimming groups at Alive St. James Swimming Pool. This allows our clients to learn fun, but important, swimming skills that might not have had chance to learn before.

Gym sessions

The Health and Wellbeing Centre has a purpose built gym, New Beginnings, for clients to start their fitness journey. We find that when clients engage in our gym, they can apply the focus and dedication demonstrated in their gym sessions into other aspects of their lives.
