Hunstanton Soap Box Derby

On Sunday, a team from British Sugar, based in Wissington, Norfolk, took their cart to Hunstanton Soap Box Derby in support of The Purfleet Trust!

Our wonderful partners at British Sugar have taken part in the Hunstanton Soap Box Derby on Sunday 22nd to raise funds for us here at The Purfleet Trust!

British Sugar’s team of apprentices has worked tirelessly to design and build their own soapbox cart, which they raced on the big day. We’re incredibly grateful to British Sugar, not just for this fantastic fundraising initiative, but also for their ongoing partnership—including their regular donations of sugar.

The British Sugar team managed to finish an incredible joint 8th out of 58 carts that raced on the day! An incredible finish for the apprentices first ever Soap Box Derby!

British Sugar and Purfleet

British Sugar make regular donations of sugar to ourselves, supplying both the Purfleet Pantry and our Health & Wellbeing Centre. This supports us with providing our daily breakfasts and lunches for our clients, and providing the wider community access to affordable groceries and essentials in our social supermarket.

Food partners such as British Sugar allow us to continue to support people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable people in our community.

Thank you British Sugar!
