Launch of our Latest Women’s House!
We’ve been delighted to work alongside the incredible Hayley Rubery to transform and launch our newest Women’s House.
The house is part of our Pathways Training House project, delivered alongside Freebridge Community Housing, and will provide a safe, welcoming place for three women as they take their next steps towards independent living.
Hayley, a lifestyle influencer and long-term supporter of The Purfleet Trust, was keen to get involved with the project and has played a huge part in bringing the house to life.
Creating opportunities for women
Around a third of the people we support are women, and we know that women can experience homelessness in very different ways.
Many women we work with have experienced complex trauma, including domestic abuse, and may need a safe, supportive environment where they can rebuild their confidence and develop the skills needed for independent living.
This new property is our third Women’s House, providing a female-only space where residents can feel safe, settled and supported as they move forward from homelessness.
Our Training Houses are designed to give residents more than just a place to live. During their time with us, they can develop the practical skills, confidence and independence needed to manage a home and build a positive future.
This can include learning about budgeting and bills, managing household responsibilities, accessing education and training, connecting with specialist services and developing the skills needed to sustain a tenancy.
We’re incredibly excited to see this new house open its doors, and we’ve been blown away by the transformation Hayley has created.
Working alongside key partners
A project like this would not have been possible without the support and commitment of the organisations, businesses and individuals who have worked alongside us to bring the house to life.
For their incredible support, we would like to thank:
- Bradite
- Hughes Electrical
- Matty Austin
- Pia Cawston
- PG&M Gardening
- FM Complete Cleaning Services
- Sparkle Squad Cleaning

A very special thank you goes to the wonderful Hayley Rubery for her incredible commitment, passion and enthusiasm throughout the project.
Hayley has been involved from the very beginning, helping to transform the property into a warm, welcoming space that our residents can be proud to call home.
And she achieved all of this on a budget, finding and upcycling furniture and other items from charity shops, car boot sales and online marketplaces.
The result is a fantastic example of how a comfortable, welcoming home can be created without a huge budget – and how a little creativity can make a big difference.
We can’t wait to welcome our first residents!
The next step is welcoming three wonderful women into their new home.
We can’t wait to see them settle in and make the space their own, and we hope that this new home provides the security, stability and platform they need to take their next steps towards a positive future.
A huge thank you once again to everyone who has supported this project.
We’re proud to be expanding our Training House service and creating more opportunities for people to develop the skills, confidence and independence they need to move forward from homelessness.
None of this would be possible without the dedication of our staff, the commitment of our partners and the continued support of our local community.
