New year, new you – volunteer with us
The new year brings about a chance to reflect on last year and set goals for the year ahead.
In the pursuit of a healthier and happier 2024, there’s compelling evidence that volunteering brings substantial benefits to both volunteers and the organizations they support.
Research showcases the health advantages tied to volunteering, spanning positive mental well-being, decreased social isolation, and improved physical health.
At The Purfleet Trust, our volunteers serve in numerous roles, they are the friendly face on reception welcoming our clients to the Health & Wellbeing Centre, they represent Purfleet collecting donations out in the community, they help tackle the Cost of Living Crisis at the Purfleet Pantry, and so much more.
Day in and day out, volunteer efforts on the frontlines and behind the scenes are vital and every hour they give selflessly volunteering brings us closer to our shared vision eradicating homelessness in West Norfolk.
Carol, one of our volunteers, shared her thoughts:
“We are all on a journey and I now have the time in mine to help. I feel like I am part of a team here and we all contribute to helping the clients.”
“We all need someone to support us at some time in our life and I chose Purfleet Trust because it’s a charity that empowers people who have been marginalised, to restore their confidence and skills.”
