Volunteers’ Week at Purfleet
Last week marked the national campaign for celebrating volunteers around the country – Volunteers’ Week. As always, we had to get involved!
Since our inception over 30 years ago, volunteers have been vital in giving us the ability to help to change lives across King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. Just last year, we had more than 50 people volunteer their time and give a total of over 15,000 hours to Purfleet!
To celebrate Volunteers’ Week, we held a get-together at the King’s Centre in King’s Lynn to bring our volunteers together, share some wonderful memories and make lots of new ones!
It was wonderful to see so many of our volunteers and remind them just how much their work means to us. Whether volunteering at our Centre on reception or in the kitchen, collecting donations on our van, or helping the community at the Purfleet Pantry, our volunteers bring so much character, commitment and talent to Purfleet, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
We’d like to give a huge thank you to the King’s Centre for allowing us to host the celebration there, as well as The Garage Norwich for delivering a wonderful shell painting class as well!
We’d also like to thank the staff at Greenyard Frozen for baking some lovely cakes for us to enjoy too.
Want to join the team?
Do you have some skills that can help us? Do you have some time you can give?
Why not join our team!
We are always looking for volunteers to join the team at Purfleet. We provide so many different services to homeless and vulnerable people in our area, so there will definitely be a role that suits you!
