Dawnmarie’s Skydive Challenge!

We spoke to Dawnmarie, who is The Purfleet Trust’s Executive Assistant to the Executive Team and Board, about why she’s taking on such a huge challenge…
What made you want to take on a skydive for The Purfleet Trust?
Something I’ve always wanted to do, but I always thought I’d do it for a reason. I don’t really fancy flinging myself out of a plane for nothing! So the idea of doing it for a charity that’s close to my heart really appealed to me.
Have you done anything like this before?
Absolutely not! I am so scared. I’ve made the decision and now I’m regretting it a bit!
What does raising money for The Purfleet Trust mean to you?
I thought about this the other day. The skydive is six minutes of being terrified, but six minutes is relatively short compared to someone who doesn’t actually have somewhere to call home. How scary must that be for them? That really puts it into perspective for me.
The skydive is now just weeks away, are you feeling more excited or more nervous?
I’m excited! A skydive is something that I have always wanted to do. But at the same time, I’m thinking that there may have to be some convincing to actually get me out of the plane! I’ve heard that the countryside is lovely to look at when you’re up there, but I think I’ll probably have my eyes shut! All in all, excited but very nervous.
Dawnmarie and Team Purfleet are taking on our skydive challenge on Sunday 20th September at Beccles Airfield. To show your support to Dawnmarie and the Purfleet team, please click the button below to donate today!
