World Mental Health Day 2024

Did you know that today is World Mental Health Day?

At The Purfleet Trust, we recognise the importance of improved mental health in helping our clients to move forward on a positive pathway out of homelessness.
At the Health & Wellbeing Centre, we provide various services that help our clients to improve their mental health, confidence and self-belief.

For example, our visiting counsellor helps our clients to understand their mental health and give them the tools to work on it, and our on-site gym, New Beginnings, gives our clients a chance to improve their mental health through improving their physical wellbeing.

Introducing Lucy – our new Health, Recovery and Wellbeing Lead!

Recently, Lucy joined our team at the Health & Wellbeing Centre as Health, Recovery and Wellbeing Lead.
This is a role which aims to improve our clients outcomes through a focus on Health.

Lucy has previous experience working in a mental health setting and understands the importance of improved mental health in helping our clients achieve their best outcomes.

She said:

I am really excited to have joined the amazing team here at Purfleet and am looking forward to help to grow the Health and Wellbeing Centre.

As a team we are aware of the challenges faced regarding not only their mental health, but their physical health, which impacts general wellbeing.

Together, we are taking steps to address our clients’ mental and physical health needs and will be introducing a number of workshops and events.

These will help challenge perceptions and develop skills to promote healthy lifestyles through nutrition, exercise and mindfulness – to name a few. I am eager to explore these topics more within our workshops and events, and excited to see the progress of those we support.

We’d like to thank Lucy for joining our team and wish her all the best as we support her in her new role at Purfleet!
