West Norfolk – Wrapped Up!
Recently, we held the Wrap Up West Norfolk campaign, a week-long coat drive aimed at providing donated winter coats to vulnerable people in our community.
This campaign was launched in partnership with our good friends at Trinity Rotary Club King’s Lynn, alongside Wrap Up UK, a programme which supports various winter coat campaigns around the country with the support of Hands On London. In 2024, Wrap Up UK collected and distributed 29,064 coats to local communities across the country.
Between 12th-19th October, we were calling for people to donate men’s, women’s and children’s winter coats so that they could help someone keep warm this winter – and we have been stunned by the response!
With counting still underway, we are delighted to announce that we have been donated over 700 winter coats. What an incredible show of support from our generous community in West Norfolk!
We would like to give a huge thank you to the local businesses that supported this campaign, including:
- Majestic Cinema
- Sainsbury’s Vancouver Quarter
- The Duke’s Head
- Morrisons King’s Lynn
- Specsavers Hardwick
- Sainsbury’s Hardwick
- Your Local Paper/Lynn News
- Bespak
- Freebridge
- Greenyard
- Adrian Flux
- East Coast Signs
- King’s Lynn Residential Home
And a huge thank you to Trinity Rotary Club King’s Lynn for their partnership in launching the campaign and hands-on help with sorting through the donations – it wouldn’t have been possible without them!
How your coats will make a difference this winter
Your incredible donations will mean that vulnerable people will have a good quality, warm coat this winter.
With the weather already turning, we have all been able to witness just how much a good coat makes a difference. Sadly, many vulnerable people, experiencing homelessness, low income and more, are unable to afford or access a good coat. This campaign has changed that for people in West Norfolk.
We will be able to provide coats to our clients experiencing homelessness at our Health & Wellbeing Centre and children and families at the Purfleet Pantry – all for free. Due to the number of donations we received, we are currently in the process of distributing these coats to other local organisations in our area to ensure that these coats get to where they are most needed.
Thank you for your support – you’ve made a huge difference to the lives of so many this winter.
